The Friends of Shockoe Hill Cemetery is an all-volunteer organization, and receives no public funding. We rely not only on monetary gifts, but donations of time and talent as well.
You can get involved in a number of ways, and help protect, preserve and restore Shockoe Hill Cemetery so that the Richmond community can enjoy this historic treasure for years to come.
Whether it's helping with a cleanup day, repairing a grave marker, giving a tour, helping to research interments, or helping to staff one of our educational and cultural events, the Friends of Shockoe Hill Cemetery value and appreciate any amount of time you are able to volunteer. We find the work very rewarding, and we hope you will too.
